Age Calculator by Year: When You Only Know the Birth Year
Open the By year of birth tab, type the year (for example 1990), and check the Age in year box, which starts as the current year. Because the month and day are unknown, the age calculator by year gives two answers: your age if your birthday has already passed this year, and one year less if it has not. This is handy for forms, school records and family trees.

Age = Current date − Date of birthSubtract the year, month and day separately. If the days are negative, borrow the number of days in the previous month. If the months are negative, borrow 12 months and reduce the years by 1. Total days is the number of calendar days between the two dates.
Worked example
Born on 15 August 1995, measured on 22 October 2026: years 2026 − 1995 = 31, months 10 − 8 = 2, days 22 − 15 = 7. Age = 31 years, 2 months, 7 days, which is 11,391 days lived.
